When you are drawing wires between ports, you are not restricted to only those ports that are current pinned; rather, you can start and/or end your drawing on any port that is available in either of the port editor. To do so, open the appropriate port editor, and click on the name of the port at which you want to start or end the wire-drawing process. You can do this even while the wire-drawing is underway.
